Slipknot is a band of many characteristics. They're famous for their revolutionary metal/hiphop/industrial music. They patronise with their individual band members, each having their own speciality. The band consists of nine members altogether, two percussionists, two guitarists, a sampler, Dj, singer, bassist, drummer. Slipknot was formed in 1995, in Des Moines, Iowa. The band has gone through many changes, as far as members, to end up where they are today. They consider themselves a family unit.There are 9 members that make up the band, each assigned a number, from 0 to 8. The group is draped in jumpsuits, and individually different masks. They describe their masks as an extension of their personalities. Instead of hiding themselves, they believe they are showing more of their inner selves by wearing the awesome masks, which also contributes to the intensity and aggressiveness in their music, because the things are so uncomfortable.
